Mrs. Garland Horton succumbed to illness Monday in Atlanta, Georgia. The daughter of Mrs. Lester Bailey and the late Lester Bailey, Mrs. Horton was born July 6, 1932. She died on December 5, 1960 at the age of 28 years, four months and nine days.
Services were held at the First Baptist Church in Steele Wednesday, December 7 at 2 p.m. Rev. James F. McCrary officiated.
Pallbearers were Bert Wells, Cecil Barnes, Johnny Carter, Howard Smith, Ralph Ketchum, and Bowen Travis.
Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Janice Horton is survived by her husband, Garland, and her mother, Mrs. Arlene Bailey. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Millie Bailey and the late W.T. Bailey.
Also surviving are three uncles, Floyd Bailey of Tampa, Fla., Elmo Bailey of Arcadia, Calif., Oscar Bailey of Dallas, Texas; and an aunt, Mrs. Alma Grissom of Blytheville, Ark.
German Funeral Home was in charge of services.
