Funeral services for Geneva Lorene Hall Henry, 85, West Plains, will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, April 6, 2011, in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mrs. Henry died at 10:21 a.m., Saturday, April 2, 2011, in Brooke Haven Healthcare. She was born Oct. 1, 1925, at Pomona, Mo., to Marion Lorenzo "Doad" Hall and Fern May Stephenson Hall. On March 25, 1943, she married Clarence Everett Henry at West Plains, Mo., beginning a marriage that spanned 65 years and during which they remained side by side until his death on June 8, 2008. Geneva received her education at Brower School; she was employed at International Shoe Company for 30 years. Geneva was a quiet, modest lady. She lived humbly, sharing and serving with no need for recognition or applause. Her greatest joy was her family. She raised her four girls with love and laughter; and she leaves them a priceless example of life well lived. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren have fond memories of Grandma Henry playing with them and making special treats they enjoyed. She loved God; and her life was a testimony to her faith. Her testimony continued through the years she was a resident of Brooke Heaven Healthcare. Despite serious health problems, she often had a smile and a song for those who cared for her there. She was a member of First Freewill Baptist Church of West Plains. She is survived by four daughters, Wanda Crow (Gary), Catherine Judd (Jack), Juanita Walker (Jim) and Freda Tate (Randall); seven grandchildren, Regina Kissinger (Steve), Ramona Heiney (Danny), Tawnya Johns (David), Brandon Tate (Monica), Kyle Walker (Erica), Nathan Tate (Glenda), and Kevin Walker (Lacy); 17 great-grandchildren. Also, surviving are two sisters, Eva Taber (Ed) and Doris Harrington; one brother, Otis Hall (Glenda); and a special sister-in-law, Lou Henry Hunter. Geneva was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clarence; one grandson, Everett Crow; and one great-grandson, Chase Johns. Burial was at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Gideon Bible Society or First Freewill Baptist Church Building Fund and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. [Howell County News]

Clarence Everett Henry, 86, West Plains, MO, went to be with the Lord June 8, 2008, at Brooke Haven HealthCare. He was born on April 27, 1922, in Peace Valley, MO, to Henry Thomas Henry and Clara May Duncan Henry.
On March 25, 1943, he married the love of his life, Geneva Hall. They had just celebrated their 65th anniversary and they had spent those years in complete devotion, holding hands and taking care of each other.
Clarence was employed as a laborer working at Reed-Harlin, Richards Brothers Feed Store, Pease Moore Mill, and retired from West Plains Shoe Factory.
He was well known, by those he worked with, as a man of great physical strength. He could toss a 100 lb. feed sack with one hand. He was very talented with woodworking and continued a family craft as a cane maker.
Clarence enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing the French harp, but his favorite pastime was pitching horseshoes. He made many special memories playing horseshoes, from pitching in tournaments to throwing with his grandchildren.
Clarence also had a great strength in his devotion to both his family and his faith. He accepted the Lord as a young man and raised his family in church. He portrayed to all that knew him the very definition of a godly man. He attended First Freewill Baptist for many years and served on the board of the church.
He had a gentle voice and a kind heart and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Everett Crow; one great-grandson, Chase Johns; two brothers, Bill and Walter; and six sisters, Pearl, Beulah, Gertie, Myrtle, Ella and Edna.
He is survived by his wife, Geneva; daughters, Wanda Crow and husband, Gary; Catherine Judd and husband, Jack; Juanita Walker and husband, Jim; and Freda Tate and husband, Randall; seven grandchildren, Regina Kissinger and husband, Steve; Ramona Heiney and husband, Danny; Brandon Tate and wife, Monica; Tawnya Johns and husband, David; Kyle Walker and wife, Erica; Nathan Tate; Kevin Walker and wife, Lacy; 12 great-grandchildren; one sister, Geneva Bullock; three sisters-in-law, Lou Henry Hunter; Doris Harrington; Eva Taber; and one brother-in-law, Otis Hall.
