Funeral services for Howard John Nygard, 93, Pomona, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 28, 2013, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Nygard died at 11:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at Willow Care Nursing Home.
He was born May 11, 1919, at Brooklyn, New York, to George and Mae Kohler Nygard. On September 30, 1989, he was married at Pomona, Missouri, to Eileen MacLean. Before his retirement, he was a truck driver. Mr. Nygard was of the Pentecostal faith and attended Victory Chapel, Peace Valley, Missouri.
He is survived by his wife, Eileen Nygard, of the family home; two children, Donald Nygard, wife, Billie, Summersville, Missouri and Mary Doherty, Mystic Island, New Jersey; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, William Nygard, wife, Marie, Green Lawn, Long Island, New York.
His parents and two sons, William and Howard Nygard, precede him in death.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m., Sunday, January 27, 2013at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to charity of choice, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. On line condolences may be expressed at robertsondrago.com.
