Ruby P. Byrd, 82, daughter of Earl and Beulah Williams Hawkins, was born May 28, 1920, at Stultz. She died Feb. 16, 2003, at St. Peter's Hospital at Albany, N.Y., following a brief illness.
Mrs. Byrd was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Cabool.
She married Paul Byrd June 29, 1938. She was a life-long resident of the Ozarks, living at West Plains and Springfield before returning to Cabool in 1970. She moved to Albany, N.Y., in July 2001 to be near her son.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Surviving are her son, Don Byrd of Albany, N.Y.; an adopted family, Ray and Connie Williams of Cabool and their family; and a granddaughter.
Services were Feb. 22 at the Elliott-Gentry Funeral Home Chapel in Cabool with the Rev. David Puricha officiating. Burial was in the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery at Pomona.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
