Dec 1958 Hermondale, Pemiscot, MO
Spouse:
Fannie M. Cronon Edington (1877 - 1964)

Hale Eddington, 67, prominent resident of the Hermondale community near the state line, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound shortly after 8:30 o'clock last Monday night while standing near the grocery store he operated with his son, Noble Eddington.
As Noble Eddington was locking the door of the store when they closed up for the night, his father pulled a .38 caliber pistol from his pocket and shot himself in the right temple. He gave no indication of having such intention and his family were at a loss to explain his act other than he had been in bad health for the past year or so, according to reports given County Coroner Jimmy Osburn.
Mr. Eddington was born June 12, 1891, in Tennessee and had lived in the south part of Pemiscot county for the past 45 years. He had operated the Hermondale store for about twenty years.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Fannie Eddington and his son, Noble Eddington, both of Hermondale; a daughter, Mrs. Leila Seratt of Hermondale; two sisters, Mrs. Emma Bradshaw of Memphis and Mrs. Leora Kemp of St. Louis; ten grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the German Funeral Home chapel in Steele yesterday (Thursday) afternoon, with the Rev. R.H. Zumalt officiating. Burial was in Mount Zion cemetery in Steele.
