Henry Willie Gibson, a retired factory worker and veteran of World War II, died May 13, at Caruthersville, at the age of 64.
Born October 8, 1907, at Steele, he was the son of the late Dolph and Sarah Gibson. He was married to Maudie Burgett at Caruthersville on July 23, 1940.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Maudie Gibson, St. Louis three sons, Henry Gibson, Jr., with the Army in Germany, Leroy Gibson, Norfork, Ark., and Jerry Gibson, Steele; eight daughters, Mrs. Billie Jean Payne, Marion Hts., Ind., Mrs. Ruby Hooker, Mrs. Virginia Berkholz, Miss Sandra Gibson, Mrs. Jennie Athanas, Miss Debra Gibson, and Miss Vickie Gibson, all of St. Louis, and Mrs. Dianne Magee, Farmington, Mo.; two brothers, Green Gibson, Caruthersville and Harmon Gibson, Steele; 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Monday, May 15, at 3:00 p.m. at the John W. German Funeral Home in Steele with the Rev. James F. McCrary officiating.
Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery at Steele with the John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Lester Cecil, Clyan Larue, Hamp Akins, Charley Smith, Pete Cromwell and Max Koonce.
