DIED—Wednesday night of last week the icy hand of death came through our city and claimed, Goldie, the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Keith. Little Goldie was only spared a few short months with those dear ones yet, long enough to brighten their home and make it sad to say the last farewell.

Obituary

Death, as a robber, came to the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Keith, of Hedge City, on the evening of Dec. 8th, 1897, and claimed Golden Earnestine, a beautiful little babe 6 months, (a charm in the home) and left a pall of sorrow in her stead. The sorrowing family have the sympathy of all.

Through cloud and storm encompass thee,
Be not afflicted nor afraid;
Thou knowest the shadow could not come,
Were there no sun beyond the shade.

Only a little child,
God to us had given;
Pure and undefiled,
Only fit for Heaven.

Only a little child,
Such as Jesus blessed;
We were unreconciled,
Only, He thought best.
