Lonnie Spencer Jordan, born February 4, 1902, died April 12, 1971, at the Memorial Hospital in Hayti.
Mr. Jordan was born in Cooter, the son of Matt and Dosha Jordan. He was employed by the Rushing Gin at Cooter.
Services for Mr. Jordan were held April 14 at the Chapel of German Funeral Home in Steele, Rev. John Haywood officiating.
Burial was in Mount Zion Cemetery, the Original German Funeral Home of 122 East Main Street, Steele, in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers wre Carl Hamel, Homer Wilson, Gene Grogan, Dolan Pritchard, Richard Barger, and Tom Burns.
Mr. Jordan leaves his wife, Mary Faught Jordan, and two daughters: Mrs. Lonnell Nichols of Memphis and Mary Beth Jordan of Cooter. He leaves three brothers, Frank Jordan of Memphis; Albert Jordan of Lepanto, Ark., and Tony Jordan of Flint, Mich.
He leaves four sisters: Mrs. Bess Thomason, Memphis; Mrs. Maude Bankevitz of St. Louis; Dixie Saunders, Guntersville, Ala., and Callie Hudgens of Hot Springs, and also three grandchildren.
