A former Steele resident, Marshall Hicks, died September 15, 1972 in Hammond, IN.
Mr. Hicks was born January 27, 1933 in Pocahontas, Arkansas, he is preceded in death by his son Marshall Hicks Jr.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 20 in the chapel of the German-Aumon Funeral Home in Steele with the Rev. Fred Albright officiating.
He is survived by his widow, Janie Berry Hicks of Hammond; one son, Wayne Hicks of Hammond; His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Hicks of Gobler; one sister, Mrs. Shelby Kinney of Cahokia, Ill.; five brothers: Lloyd Hicks, Roy Hicks, Larry Hicks and Kenneth Hicks, all of St. Louis and Charles Hicks of Rives.
Interment was in Mount Zion Cemetery with the German-Aumon Funeral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Don Weaver, Richard Kinnison, T. John Kinnison, Lyman Leathers, Bob Pritchard and Leland Weaver.
