Lloyd "Duke' Dykes, 85, son of Jessie and Beatrice Hutchcraft Dykes, was born Nov. 8, 1921, at Simmons. He died Dec. 8, 2006, at Ozarks Medical Center at West Plains.
Mr. Dykes served in the Army during World War II in the African, European and Pacific theaters. He was a decorated sergeant.
Mr. Dykes was an avid conservationist, who loved to hunt and fish.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret; and three brothers.
Surviving are a daughter, Marilyn Conklin of Avondale, Ariz.; sisters, Mary Ross of Yucaipa, Calif., and Billie Ryan of Houston; four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial services are 10 o'clock Saturday at the family farm at 1782 County Road 1270 at Willow Springs. Arrangements for cremation were under the direction of Willow Funeral Home of Willow Springs.
