Funeral Services for Velma L. Kester, 68, Willow Springs, Missouri, will be 1:00 PM Saturday, November 13, 2010, at the Carter Funeral Home Chapel, West Plains with the Brother Tom Clark officiating under the direction of Carter Funeral Home, West Plains.
She was born the daughter of the late Lewis Phipps and Neoma Brazil Phipps, on March 4, 1942 in Thayer, Missouri and died November 9, 2010 in Springfield, Missouri. She was united in marriage April 5, 1975 in Willow Springs, Missouri to Eugene Kester.
She is survived by her husband, Eugene Kester, of the home, Willow Springs, Missouri; two brothers, Melvin Phipps and wife Jeanne of Brookline, Missouri, Calvin Phipps and wife Janet of Koshkonong, Missouri; one sister, Alice Bradford of Paducah, Kentucky and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Lewis Phipps and Neoma Brazil Phipps; her maternal and paternal grandparents; and one brother, Richard Phipps.
She was a homemaker and a member of the General Baptist Church, Burnham, Missouri.
Family visitation will be 5-8 PM Friday
Burial will be in Willow Springs Cemetery
