Mrs. Frances Holloway passed away on Thursday, May 26, 2011, while at Willow Care Nursing Home in Willow Springs. Born on Sept. 14, 1922, in Willow Springs, to Harvey and Lula (Dryman) Stringer, she was 88 years old. Mrs. Holloway grew up in Willow Springs. On March 25, 1939, in Houston, Mo., she married Ray M. Holloway and to this union, three children were born. In 1950, the couple moved to California where they lived until 1960. They returned to Willow Springs, where Frances worked in the school cafeteria. In 1964, the family relocated to Kansas City. Frances worked for S&H Green Stamps in one their redemption centers until returning to Willow Springs in 1973. Upon her return, Frances worked for her son Gary in the only greenhouse in Willow Springs. She enjoyed her work there and did all of the floral arranging that was involved with that job. Frances enjoyed creating beautiful ceramic pieces that she sold at numerous craft fairs. In addition to ceramics she enjoyed crochet; however, her greatest joy came from being with her family. It was said that she was "fiercely loyal" to them. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Frances was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ray Holloway; brothers, Ewing, Sonny, Tom, Russell, and Clifford Stringer; sister, Geneva Luttrell; and one grandson, Aaron Holloway. She is survived by her sons, Gary Ray Holloway and his wife Kay of Hollister; Kenneth Charles Holloway and Kayla Beatty of Hollister; and Danny Eugene Holloway and his wife Martha of Willow Springs. Frances is further survived by her grandchildren Karen James and her husband Randy of West Plains; Stephen Holloway and his wife Lisa of Pleasant Hill, Mo.; Kenna Cameron and her husband Kent of Leesburg, Va.; Shannon Holloway of Springfield; Brad Holloway and his wife Vickie of Belton, Mo.; Shawn Holloway and his wife Jewel of Willow Springs; and Justin Holloway and his wife Jennifer of Ozark; 14 great-grandchildren; her brother Richard Stringer and his wife Francie of Cabool; sisters Othene Brigance of Cabool and Betty Corn and her husband Joe of Springfield. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins further survive. Funeral services were Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at the Willow Springs City Cemetery. Remembrances may be made in her name to the Willow Springs Scholarship Club. Arrangements were under the direction of Willow Funeral Home.
