Mrs. Helen Stephenson of Willow Springs passed away peacefully on Oct. 5, 2011, while at Willow Care Nursing Home in Willow Springs. Born on Nov. 20, 1927, in Mountain View, Mo., to Clarence and Lydia (Webb) Boyer, she was 83 years old.
Helen was united in marriage to Wayne A. Stephenson on Jan. 17, 1945, in Salem, Ark. To this union, three children were born. Helen was a charter member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Willow Springs, where she remained active until her health failed. Helen had many enjoyments in her life such as doing volunteer work, baking goodies for friends and delivering them to the nursing home; however, her greatest joy came from raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Cecil Boyer; and two sisters, Louis Abbey and Bernice Alexander.
Mrs. Stephenson is survived by her husband of 66 years, Wayne Stephenson of Willow Springs; her three sons, Mike Stephenson and his wife Clara of Jefferson City, Mo.; Greg Stephenson and his wife Vicky of Springfield, Mo.; and Terry Stephenson and his wife Jeanine of Effingham, Ill. She is further survived by her grandchildren, Julie Gugel, Caleb Stephenson, Tony Stephenson, Veronica Aichele, Wayne Stephenson, Lauren Stephenson and Lindsey Stephenson. Three great-grandchildren and her brother Jim Boyer of San Angelo, Texas, also survive.
Funeral services were Saturdy, Oct. 8, 2011, at Trinity Baptist Church in Willow Springs. Burial followed Saturday's service at the Willow Springs City Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Willow Funeral Home in Willow Springs.

Mr. Wayne Stephenson of Willow Springs, passed away on Thursday, January 3, 2013 while at the Willow Care Nursing Home in Willow Springs. Born on April 27, 1926 in Hutton Valley, Missouri to Irvan and Ida (Green) Stephenson, he was 86 years old.
Mr. Stephenson proudly served his country in the US Army during World War II where he served in the Philippines and Korea. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service. On January 17, 1945, he married Helen Boyer in Salem, Arkansas. He later worked for the Missouri State Highway Department retiring in 1987 after thirty-five years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Ingomar Lodge No. 536 A.F. & M. in Willow Springs where he was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite, and the Shriners. Wayne was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and was an honorary dugout coach alongside Tony La Russa during the St. Louis Cardinals game with the Springfield Cardinals on April 2, 2005. He loved to fish and hunt and spent many hours enjoying the outdoors while teaching his sons how to be safe, successful hunters and fisherman. Wayne will be missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by Helen, his loving wife of 66 years, three brothers; Clyde, Earl and Leonard; five sisters; Lillian Stephenson, Grace Lowe, Hazel Frazee, Alice Medley and Berta Cobbs.
Mr. Stephenson is survived by his three sons, Mike Stephenson and his wife Clara of Jefferson City; Greg Stephenson and his wife Vicky of Springfield; and Terry Stephenson and his wife Jeanine of Effingham, IL. He is further survived by seven grandchildren, Julie Gugel, Caleb Stephenson, Tony Stephenson, Veronica Aichele, Wayne Stephenson, Lauren Stephenson, and Lindsey Stephenson; four great grandchildren; Michaela Gugel, Eliana Aichele, Alex Aichele, and Gaddie Stephenson.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM with the funeral service starting at 12:00 PM at the Willow Funeral Home, located at 106 E. Third Street in Willow Springs. Burial with military honors will follow the service at the Willow Springs City Cemetery.
