Funeral services were held for Herman Albert Wafler, Tuesday, December 26, 1967 at 2:00 p.m. Services were conducted by Rev. James F. McCrary at the First Baptist Church in Steele.
Mr. Wafler retired in November 1966, after 18 years employment at the local school.
Mr. Wafler was born May 29, 1895 and died December 23, 1967. He was 72 years, 6 months and 24 days old at the time of his death.
Mr. Wafler leaves his wife Mrs. Grace Wafler; three daughters: Mrs.Martha Williams, Pasadena, Calif.; Mrs. Shirley Ketchum, Memphis, Tenn.; Mrs. Edyth Acuff, Caruthersville, Mo.; two sons: Marion Wafler of Memphis, and Ralph Wafler of Steele.
He also leaves three sisters; Mrs. Ida Dannell and Mrs. Lena Wright of Hillsboro, Tenn., and Mrs. Lizzie Henderson of Downing, Calif.; and two brothers, Sherman Wafler, Hillsboro, Mo.; and Tom Wafler of Gary, Ind.; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
Burial was at Mt. Zion Cemetery with German Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Cecil Brown, Louis Rogers, Gervis Capps, Sam Ellis, Homer Alexander and Clarence Poteet
