"Jesse R. "Skud" Pendergraft, 66 years, of Noel, Missouri, departed this life on Sunday, January 1, 2006 at the Northwest Medical Center in Bentonville, Arkansas.
Jesse was born on January 22, 1939 on the family farm near Brush Creek, son of the late Jesse and Eva Mae (Chrisman) Pendergraft. After graduation from the White Rock School, Jesse then served his country faithfully in the United States Army. On April 30, 1968 in Burnsville, Minnesota he was united in marriage to Pat Haisman and to this union two daughters and one son were born. Jesse was employed by O'Brien Farms for over twenty-five years. In 1992 he went to work for Simmons Industries in Jane, Missouri where work until 2000 when his health forced him to retire. He enjoyed square dancing, baseball, cutting wood, hunting, fishing, and most of all his GTO that he bought new in 1966.
He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clifford Haden Pendergraft, and Irvan Dale Pendergraft; and two sisters, Ona Rupe, and Goldie Pendergraft.
Jesse is survived by his wife of thirty-seven years, Pat Pendergraft of the home; two daughters, Lavetta Pendergraft of Noel, Missouri, and Katina Raney and husband, Eric, of Noel, Missouri; a son, Charles Haden Pendergraft of Noel, Missouri; four grandchildren, Abigayle Pendergraft, James Haden Raney, Jesse Lynn Raney, and Bert Haden Williams; a brother, Alvin Pendergraft of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; two sisters, Mabel Wilkerson, of Bentonville, Arkansas, and Elsie Davis, of Centerton, Arkansas; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. Jesse R. "Skud" Pendergraft are 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2006 in the Ozark Funeral Home Chapel in Pineville, Missouri with Pastor Jamey Cope officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Brush Creek Cemetery. Donald Baker, Aaron Sherman, Boone Harper, Daniel McKinney, Jimmy Slinkard, and Jody Townsend will honor Jesse's life by serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Lee Davis, Phil Wilkerson, and Mitch Pendergraft. Memorials are being directed to the Brush Creek Cemetery Care Fund, contributions may be left at the funeral home."
