Funeral services for Beulah Ruth Hayman, 94, Willow Springs, Mo., were Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mrs. Hayman passed away at 1:36 p.m., Friday, Dec. 21, 2012, at Ozarks Medical Center. She was born April 20, 1918, at Buffalo, N.Y., to Edmond and Lida May Eastman Smades. While working as a dental assistant in Buffalo, she met her husband, William R. Hayman. They were married June 20, 1942, at Buffalo, N.Y. The couple had celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary this year. Mrs. Hayman belonged to several clubs and organizations throughout her life; Mother Singers, Tuesday's Study Club and taught Bible classes with her husband at Willow Care in Willow Springs, Missouri. She also won numerous medals while competing at the Senior Olympics in the fields of walking and bowling. Mrs. Hayman was an active member of the Church of Christ in Pomona, Mo., where she had been a member since 1981. She is survived by her husband, William R. Hayman, of the family home; one daughter, Judith Turner, Willow Springs, Mo.; three grandchildren, Scott Turner, wife, Robin, Van Buren, Ohio, William Martin, wife, Melinda, Caulfield, Mo., and Michael Mill, wife, Lacy, West Plains, Mo.; six great-grandchildren, Layne Turner, Brett Turner, Ryan Turner, Andrew Turner, Destiny Martin and Chasity Wake. Her parents, one daughter, Janice Lynne Mill, one son-in-law, Randy Mill, two sisters and two brothers-in-law, precede her in death. Burial was in the Willow Springs Cemetery. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Fair Haven Children's Home and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Funeral services for William Robert "Bill" Hayman, 94, Willow Springs, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, October 10, 2013, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Hayman died at 9:50 a.m., Saturday, October 5, 2013, at Ozarks Medical Center.
He was born April 18, 1919, at Port Huron, Michigan, to John Robert Hayman and Sarah Beatrice Drago Hayman. On June 20, 1942, he was married at Buffalo, New York, to Beulah Ruth "Bee" Smades, who preceded him in death on December 21, 2012. He was a merchant marine during World War II, a member of the Church of Christ, was an active song leader and worker within the church, an active member of Father Singers, and actively taught Bible classes at Willow Care. Mr. Hayman worked for General Motors-Chevrolet and in the last five years of employment, he worked in the overseas division throughout the world. He also won numerous medals in golf and bowling while playing in the Senior Olympics throughout the United States.
He is survived by one daughter, Judith Turner, Willow Springs, Missouri; three grandchildren, Scott Turner and wife, Robin, Van Buren, Ohio, William Martin and wife, Melinda, Caulfield, Missouri and Michael Mill and wife, Lacy, West Plains, Missouri; six great-grandchildren, Layne, Brett, Ryan and Andrew Turner, Van Buren, Ohio, Destiny Martin and Chasity Wake, Caulfield, Missouri; and one sister, Alice Olmstead, Newport Richey, Florida.
His parents, wife, one daughter, Janice Lynne Mill, one son-in-law, Randy Mill, and grandson, Richard Mill, precede him in death.
Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., Thursday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Willow Springs Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Fair Haven Children's Home, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Online condolences may be expressed at www.robertsondrago.com.
