Daisy Roberta "Bobbie" ANTISTA

McConnell Bledsoe Memorial Cemetery
Christian County,
Missouri

1 Mar 1919 - 23 Jun 2015
As the sun rose here on earth on June 23, 2015 Daisy Roberta “Bobbie” (Covington) Antista had the glorious opportunity to watch her first sunrise in Heaven.

Bobbie was born on March 1, 1919 in Glendale, CA where she lived most of her life until she joined her family in Garner, NC in 1986. She celebrated her 2nd birth when she asked Jesus into her heart to be her Lord and Savior in 1971.

Grandma knew no happiness like that of having her family around so in 2005 she moved to Missouri, with her son, to be close to her granddaughter and great-grandchildren. She lived over 96 truly blessed years full of love and happiness, always with a smile on her face.

Bobbie was welcomed into heaven, with open arms, by her Savior, Jesus Christ, and by her grandson, Eric James Antista, which I am sure was a truly wonderful reunion as she loved and missed that young man so very much.

She was also proceeded in death by her parents, Robert & Daisy Covington and her brothers Jess Covington and Frank Covington all of California.

She is survived by her only child, son and daughter in law, Jim and Phyllis Antista (Nixa, MO), her granddaughter, Melody (Antista) Ball and the apples of her eye, her two great-grandchildren Leslye Ball and Brody Ball (Nixa, MO), and granddaughter Cindy Antista (Boston, MA).

Bobbie loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren so very much and sure would light up when one of them would walk into the room. In their early years, Leslye and Brody would eagerly enjoy their time with “2-grandma” and the rides she would give them on the seat of her walker. If Bobbie wasn’t playing a mean game of Scrabble (which she never lost), she was enjoying reading books and magazines. Her younger years in California were spent on or near the ocean soaking up the warm sunshine and listening to the wave’s crash on the shore. She experienced many vacations with her son and grandchildren and somehow “feeding the duckies” was a frequent activity they all enjoyed together.

Bobbie was immensely proud of all her family, never missing a school concert or church production where her grandkids or great grandkids were involved, until she was no longer able to be there and then she would wait eagerly for the pictures and stories to be shared, to help her feel as if she were right there the whole time. She was always so proud of their accomplishments, even as recent as a few days ago was telling Melody how very proud of her she was for going back to school and pursuing her dreams of becoming a nurse and couldn’t wait for her to finish up. She will be sorely missed by all those who had the opportunity to meet her and love her. And her legacy will indeed live on through the three generations she leaves behind.

Bobbie will be layed to rest at 2:00pm, on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at McConnell-Bledsoe Cemetery in Nixa, MO, under direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa. The graveside service will be a remembrance of her truly blessed and full life here on earth and a commemoration of the fact that we will indeed see her again someday soon! Friends are welcome to join the family at this home-going celebration.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Cherry Street Baptist Church Missions Fund to help in spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ to those close to home and around the world.
