Rev. James (Papa) Holly Faulkenberry, age 93, of Nixa, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015. He was born June 6, 1921 in Bowie, Texas, the son of Holly and Lola (Jackson) Faulkenberry. He served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a cook and baker during World War II in the European Theater. On January 18, 1946 he and Bernice Jones were united in marriage.

Rev. Faulkenberry had served as a Baptist Minister for 35 years from 1958 until 1993. Following retirement, he worked at C. Meek Lumber for 17 years. He loved to fish and was a "Jack of all trades" always helping others when needed. He loved his family and looked forward to spending summers with his grandsons. James was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Nixa.

Survivors include: His wife, Bernice; children, Betty Quigley of Nixa, JoAnn Wieneke and husband David of McCune, KS, Ron Faulkenberry of Kansas City, MO, and Randy Faulkenberry and wife Connie of Wichita, KS; six grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Melba Jo Powers and husband Joe of Biloxi, MS.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Mildred Jones, brothers, Thurman Faulkenberry, and Alvin Faulkenberry, and a grandson, Michael Quigley.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 29, in Victory Baptist Church, Nixa, with Pastor Ray Brinson officiating. Burial will follow in McConnell Bledsoe Cemetery, Nixa, with full military honors. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday in Adams Funeral Home, Nixa.

Memorials may be made to Victory Baptist Church Building Fund.
