Shannon Kay Lawrence, 29 of Cabool, MO passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at the Willow Care Nursing Home in Willow Springs, MO. She was born on January 10, 1987 in Ft. Lauderdale, FL the daughter of Bonnie (Robbins) and Jeffrey Lawrence.
Shannon was a vibrant, lively, adventurous girl. She always wanted to experience all life had to offer. She was an excellent athlete and was very active in many school sports. Shannon loved playing basketball but also excelled at volleyball and track. She broke the Cabool Middle School girls pole vaulting record while in junior high. She also loved to hunt, fish and just being silly with her family and friends.
Tragedy changed her life in 2001 in the form of a traumatic brain injury suffered in a car accident. Although this left her incapacitated, she continued to touch lives in unexpected ways until she passed on from this life.
Shannon leaves behind her mother, Bonnie Mitchell and husband, Stephen; her father, Jeffrey Lawrence and wife, Lisa; brother, Weston Mitchell; many extended family, friends and an entire community that has poured out their love and support towards Shannon and her family throughout the years. We are humbled and grateful beyond words.
We grieve at the unfillable emptiness her departure leaves and yet we celebrate the amazing person she was and we rejoice that her spirit has been set free. [egcfuneralhome.com]
