Alpheus Lee Boykin, 75 of Cabool, MO passed away on April 6, 2016 at the Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, MO. He was born on July 4, 1940 near Graff, MO the first of five children born to Roy E. and Marie M. (Crewse) Boykin.
Lee grew to adulthood near Beaver Creek and attended Ellis Country School his first eight years. He graduated from Mtn. Grove High School with the Class of 1958. On July 7, 1961, Lee was united in marriage to Carol Anne Altis at Cabool, where they lived all their married life. Two children were born to this union.
Lee had worked as a rock driller for Howard Construction and a welder at Southwest Truck and Body in West Plains; he retired from DFA in 2005 where he had worked in the maintenance department.
Lee had a deep love for his family and was a gentle father and grandfather. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and race cars in his younger years. Later his interests were gardening, working in the woods and visits from his great grandchildren, friends and all his Facebook friends.
Lee was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Carol of the home; his son, Roy and wife, Tina of Cabool, MO; his daughter, Julie Dennison and husband, Jeff of Nixa, MO; three grandchildren, Brittany Sweet and husband, Ty of Florida, Victoria Boykin of Cabool, MO and Derek Dennison of Nixa, MO; five great grandchildren, Kinley, Scarlett and Evie Sweet and Abby and Cayden Curry; one brother, Glen Boykin of Norwood, MO; three sisters, Betty Richardson of Oklahoma, Wanda Snyder of Plato, MO and Diana Dawson of Mtn. Grove, MO; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many other family and friends who will greatly miss him. [egcfuneralhome.com]
