OFFICERS PROBE SARCOXIE DEATH
SARCOXIE, Mo. -
Jasper County Sheriff's deputies and other officers are investigating a mysterious death.

Sarcoxie Death

Jasper County Sheriff Archie Dunn said evidence and witnesses lead officers to believe a Sarcoxie man may have killed himself on Wednesday.

The man, Michael S. Haskins, 27, was found in the carport behind the home at 201 S. Ninth St., in Sarcoxie.

In a written release, Dunn said officers received a report at 8:40 p.m., Wednesday from neighbors of hearing what they believed to be gunshots in the area.

When officers arrived, they discovered Haskins' body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Dunn's release said evidence at the scene and information received from possible witnesses indicate Haskins injuries were self-inflicted. The investigation is continuing by sheriff's deputies and Sarcoxie officers, but no one else is believed to be involved.
