James "Jimmy" Dewey Guy was born in Dyersburg, TN. on July 2, 1947. He departed this life in Judsonia, AR. on Nov. 8, at the age of 69. Jimmy was the son of the late Lamar Guy and Edna Delois Singleton Guy.
He attended school in Finley, TN.
Jimmy's hobbies and interests included drawing, riding his bicycle, hunting and walking. He was also a dog lover. He was engaged in farming prior to his faith(health) failing.
Jimmy was of the Pentecostal faith, having attended the Jesus Name Tabernacle in Caruthersville when his health permitted.
He is survived by 6 brothers, Everette Guy, Leroy Guy, William Guy, Ora Guy and David Guy, all of Caruthersville, and Kenneth Singleton of Steele, 4 sisters, Betty Morgan of Kennett, Ruby Smith of Blytheville, Margaret Childs of Holcomb and Darlene Ashby of Blytheville and a number of many relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by 2 siblings, Otis Guy and Shirley Mae Shelton.
Funeral services were Saturday, Nov. 12 at 3 p.m. with interment following in Mt. Zion Cemetery with Rev. Richard Lee officiating. Pallbearers were Jimmy's brothers.
H.S. Smith Funeral Home in charge of services.
