Reverend Charles Ellis Faught, 78, passed away Friday, June 19, 2015, in Cape Girardeau. He was born July 1, 1936, to the late John Floyd Faught and Josie Olivia Beck Faught in Alabama. He was united in marriage to Dessie Riley on Oct. 26, 1954, in Hernando, Miss.
Reverend Faught was a minister of the Gospel for 58 years. His first pastorate was with the Church of God in Gobler. He then pastored the Church of God in Kennett. For 40 years, he pastored at Faith Pentecostal Church in Holland until his retirement.
Preceding Rev. Faught in death were his parents; three brothers and three sisters.
Survivors of Rev. Faught include his wife, Dessie; two sons, Randy Faught, and his wife, Stacey, of Farmington, Ark., and Stanley Faught of Steele; three daughters, Brenda Gray, and her husband, Billy, of Steele, Gwen Britt, and her husband, Gene, of West Fork, Ark., and Rita Callis, and her husband, Gary, of Kennett; one brother, Floyd Faught, and his wife, Jean, of West Point, Ga.; one sister, Sue Gravitt, of Brownsboro, Texas; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Rev. Faught were held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 22, at Faith Pentecostal Church in Holland with Rev. James Riley officiating. Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, June 21 at Powell Funeral Home. Interment followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Billie Gray, Billy David Gray, Eric Gray, Jason Faught, Randy Faught Jr. and Phillip Britt. Honorary pallbearer was Randy Faught Sr.
Powell Funeral Home of Steele was in charge of arrangements.
