Mrs. Billie Jo Kelley Casteel, 76, formerly of Braggadocio, passed away February 2, 2013 in Kennett, Mo. Born on September 27, 1936 in Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Levi Kelley and Nellie Staggs. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: Junior Kelley, Melvin Kelley, Sandy Kelley, and Mart Staggs; two sisters: Margaret McCaig and Allie Sue Auston; two grandsons: Mike Godair and Michael Casteel; and one great-grandchild, McKenzie Godair.
Survivors include nine children: Barbara Godair of Kennett; JoAnn Sanders of Fairdealing, Mo.; Brenda Casteel of Kennett; Margaret Jones of Fairdealing; Larry Casteel of Caruthersville; Barry Casteel of Doniphan, Mo.; Clarence Casteel of Doniphan; Rena Ruminer of Doniphan; and Mike Casteel, also of Doniphan; four brothers: Cotton Kelley of Braggadocio; J.R. Kelley of Steele; Tommy Kelley of Alexander, Ga.; and Chester Kelley of Caruthersville; three sisters: Mary Ellen Rogers of Memphis; Pat Wilcox of Caruthersville, and Barbara Jean Clay, also of Caruthersville; 32 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Funeral services were conducted February 5, 2013 at Powell Funeral Home in Steele. The Rev. Robert Travis officiated and burial followed in Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele.
Powell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
