JB Barnard, 63, of Steele passed away Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016. He was born Sept. 5, 1952, in Steele to Emma and Willard Barnard. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Davis of Steele on Aug. 12, 1972. They had 44 wonderful years together. He loved making things for other people and helping in any way he could. When he left people he was visiting, he always left saying, "God is good to us."
Mr. Barnard was preceded in death by his parents, Emma and Willard Barnard; brothers, Willard, Carl, James, Billy Gene and Jackie, and two sisters, Stella and Debbie.
Survivors of Mr. Barnard include his wife, Carolyn, of the home; one son, Todd Barnard and his wife, Jennifer, of Gosnell, Ark.; one daughter, Shelly Anderson and her husband, Keith, of Pauls Valley, Okla.; six grandchildren, Caleb Barnard, Wesley Barnard, Chelsea Budar and Raegan Schaefer, all of Cooter, and Shiloh and Langston Anderson of Pauls Valley, Okla.; two great-granddaughters, Myla Kaye Opal Dubar and Marlee Rae Barnard, and three sisters, Marilyn Self, Pat Barnard and Mary Ann Barnard.
Funeral services for Mr. Barnard were held Friday, Sept. 2 at John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with Br Jeremy Reed, Bro Dallen Wright and Bro. DeShawn Cantrell officiating. Interment followed at Mr. Zion Cemetery. Pallbearers were DeShawn Cantrell, Wesley Barnard, Shiloh Anderson, Gary Dubar, Billy Joe Stanfield and Stephen Ganus. Honorary pallbearers was Langston Anderson.
John W German Funeral Home of Steele was on charge pf arrangements.
