Warren Leon Bateman, five year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard L. Bateman of near here, died Monday at Walls Hospital in Blytheville of streptococcic laryngitis, a throat infection that developed following an illness of measles. The child was born November 8, 1935 in Carroll County, Tenn.
The Bateman family moved to near Steele about a month ago from Trezevant, Tenn. Besides the parents, one brother, James Melton, a sister, Dorothy Sue, grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Singleton, of near here, Mrs. Eunice Bateman of Trezevant, and other near relatives, mourn the death of little Warren Leon.
Funeral services were held Tuesday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Singleton, conducted by Rev. H. S. Holley, pastor of the Steele Methodist Church. Burial was made in Mt. Zion Cemetery. German Undertaking Co. was in charge.
