Steele, Mo.--Funeral services were held at the Baptist church in Steele Tuesday afternoon for Roy Marcus Burroughs, who died suddenly at 1:30 o'clock Monday morning. The services were conducted by the pastor the Rev. J.W. Cunningham, and interment was in Mt. Zion cemetery.
Mr. Burroughs, who was 35 years of age, has been employed at the Martin Oil Station for some time and had worked at the station Sunday. He was in apparently the best of health, even when he and his family retired about ten o'clock. Mrs. Burroughs was awakened by his gasping for breath and he was dead before help arrived, death being attributed to a heart attack.
Surviving is his wife, Mrs. Vernell Neal Burroughs; their daughter, Marcia Nell Burroughs of Steele; his father, John Burroughs of Braggadocio; three sisters, Mrs. Cordia Keith of Malden, Mrs. Ardie Ruth and Mrs. Hazel Laffarlette of Steele; four brothers, Luther of Steele; Robert of Saltillo, Tenn., John Tim and J.C. Burroughs, both of whom are residents of Louisiana.
