We were sorry to learn of the death of our old friend R.T. Cowan last Tuesday at Oregon, Lawrence Co. We have known him since childhood- lived for four years with him on the Pacific coast and held him in high esteem. None of his family were with him when he died-all living at La Camas, Washington. His youngest daughter, Miss Clara, arrived Wednesday evening, after her father was buried. He was buried at the Ritchey cemetery? on Wednesday by his Masonic brethren, according to the rites of that order. He was a member of the Presbyterian church, a democrat and an upright citizen of Southwest MO. Peace be to his ashes.
