Mrs. Mary Wilma Goodman, 83, of Caruthersville, Mo., died Monday, May 28, 1990, at Baptist Central Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Daughter of the late Willie Washington Etheridge and Mary Ellen Campbell, she was born January 10, 1907 in Bogota, Tenn.

Mrs. Goodman attended school at Tyler, Mo.

On June 28, 1923 in Tyler, she was united in marriage to Elmer David Goodman. He preceded her in death December 26, 1979.

Five children also preceded her in death.

A member of the Caruthersville Church of the Nazarene, Mrs. Goodman was employed by the Brown Shoe Company before her retirement.

She leaves two sons: Calvin Goodman of Blytheville, Ark. and Trafton Goodman of Caruthersville; two daughters: Mrs. Mamie Meyer of Camdenton, Mo., and Mrs. Shirley Fredrickson and Granada Hills, Calif.; six grandchildren: James Lee Whitbey of Nashville, Tenn., David Ira Goodman, of San Jose, Calif., Kinley Cullum Goodman of Little Rock, Ark., Calvin Perry Whitbey of Los Angeles, and Gloria M. Lampert and Carolyn J. Morgan, both of St. Louis; and four great-grandchildren: James N. Whitbey of Nashville, Bettina R. Fuller of California, and Stephen Wheeler and Christopher Wheeler, both of St. Louis.

Funeral services were held for Mrs. Goodman, Thursday, May 31, 1990, at the Church of the Nazarene in Caruthersville with Rev. Elmer Brunton officiating. Burial was at Mount Zion Cemetery near Steele, Mo., with H.S. Smith of Caruthersville in charge.

Pallbearers were: Earl Curtis, Roy Gill, Neal Quinn, James L. Whitbey, David I. Goodman, and Kinley C. Goodman.

Services were held December 29, 1979 for Elmer David Goodman at the Church of the Nazarene in Caruthersville. Mr. Goodman died December 26, 1979 at Pemiscot Memorial Medical Center. He was 76.
Mr. Goodman was born in Tyler on March 7, 1903, the son of the late David and Mamie Bracken Goodman. He attended school in Tyler. Mr. Goodman was married to Mary Wilma Etheridge on June 23, 1923 in Tyler.
He did farm work until 1941 when he went to work for Brown Shoe Co. He retired from Brown Shoe in 1970 and operated Goodman's Grocery and Market in Caruthersville until his final retirement in 1976.
Surviving are his wife, two sons, Calvin of Blytheville, and Trafton of Caruthersville; two daughters, Mrs. Mamie Meyer of Florissant and Mrs. Shirley Frederickson of Valencia, Calif.; a step-brother, Walter, of Florissant; two step-sisters, Mrs. Evelyn McMurry of Fenton, and Mrs. Beulah Mae Cruff of Chicago; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Rev. Gilbert Hollingsworth officiated. Pallbearers were Earsey Vickers, Sr., Earl Curtis, Roy Hill, Herman Mott, J.C. Goodman, and Frank Wheeler. Interment was in Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele. H.S. Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
