Don M. Wilson, 81, Neosho, Mo., passed into eternal rest at 7:15 p.m., Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, at the Joplin Health Care Nursing Home in Joplin after a long illness. Don was born Sept. 24, 1926, in Seneca, Mo., the son of Ralph and Bernice (Walters) Wilson. He was a lifetime area resident and a member of the Seneca Church of Christ. Don formerly owned and operated a welding shop in Walkerville. He worked at Rockedyne and retired for Teledyne. He loved working with his horses and was a former member of the Newton County Sheriffs mounted posse. He proudly served his country during World War II and again during the Korean Conflict. He was awarded several medals and ribbons for his services. Don married Jean Kidwell in 1945 and she preceded him in death in 1967, he then married Wanda Elliott and she survives. Additional survivors include one son, Mark Wilson, Neosho; three daughters, Kathy Clark and husband, Garry and Lisa Larson both, of Neosho and Elizabeth English and husband, Roger, Joplin; one brother, J T. Wilson, Diamond; two sisters, Elleen Austin and Sue Gover both, of Jackson, Tenn.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services under the personal direction of Campbell-Biddlecome Funeral Home, Seneca, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 16, at the Seneca Church of Christ with Peter Pierson, minister officiating. Burial will be in the New Salem Cemetery with Mark Wilson, Paul Cline, Charles Routledge, Clint Siegrise, Allen Pendergrast, and John King serving as pallbearers.
