Services for Fay W. Sears, 82, Springfield, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Greenlawn North Chapel with the Rev. Jessie Roberts officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Sears died early Sunday morning in his home after a long illness .
A retired cabinetmaker, he had worked for the Springfield Public Works Department.
Survivors include his wife, Geraldine; a son, Clay, Branson; a sister, Bessie Cornett, Mount Vernon; three grandchildren; and five great-grand children.

Geraldine "Gerri" H. Sears
Geraldine "Gerri" H. Sears, 90, Springfield, Mo., died Friday, June 27 , 1997, in her home.
She was a homemaker and was self-employed as a maker of baby clothes .
She was a member of Kansas Expressway Church of Christ.
She is survived by a son and his wife, Clay and Jean Sears, Branson, M o.; three grandchildren, Mike Sears, Kimberling City, Mo., Pat Sears, and Lisa Burroughs, both of Ozark, Mo.; eight (great-)grandchildren; two sisters, Opal Davis and Molly Loucks, both of Springfield, Mo.; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 30, 1997, in Greenlawn Funeral Home North with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call at their convenience after 5 p.m. today, June 29, 1997, in the funeral home.
