"Aunt Halie, as we all called her, was a devoted wife, kind and true. As a mother she planned wisely, executed diligently and loved devotedly; was ever ready to assist, a relative or comfort her neighbors. She was superintendent of the Sabbath school at the Painter school house several years, commencing about the year 1886. She also taught the Bible class and was highly esteemed for her knowledge of scripture, and her gentle, Christian character. She lived a long time on earth as a shining light for Jesus. Oh, how she loved to read and search the scriptures. The life of this sainted mother in Israel stands as a sacred monument of all who knew her. There is a vacant seat in the church and a vacant chair in her home, but there is one more saint in Heaven, another tie to bind her husband and children to their Heavenly Father. Mourn for her not as for one dead, but think of her living again in the city of God. Just before she entered the valley of death she beckoned with her hands. Her daughter said , "What do you want, mother?". She said, I want the Angels of the Lord . Come Angel band and around me stand". She looked up at her daughter who was blinded with tears and said, "Heaven, the victory through Jesus is complete". Her death exemplified the Bible truth. We pray the richest blessings of Christ our Savior, upon the bereaved husband, children, relatives and friends that by the grace of God they may live and die in the Lord, and share together the blessedness of the Sainted ones gone on before, on the shores of eternal deliverance around the throne of our Great Redeemer.

A mother's grave! Earth has some sacred spots where we feel like treading with reverence, where vows have been plighted, prayers offered, tears shed, but of all spots on this green earth none is so sacred as that where rest our loving mother." C.A. Kenney
