Lieutenant William Hawkins was born January 20, 1815 in Virginia to John Coleman and Sarah Hawkins, and was killed by a confederate soldier September 14, 1862 near Helena Arkansas. He was a member of the 6th Missouri Cavalry.
He was married and the father of 6 children.
