Connie Lee (Daniels) Mohler, daughter of Norma Burough and step-daughter of the late Terry Burough was born on April 2, 1955 in Springfield, MO. She passed away on October 18, 2015 at the Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO after a short illness at the age of 60 years, 6 months and 16 days.
Connie lived in Springfield, MO from the time of her birth until she was 28 years old. She was saved and baptized on August 4, 1968 at the age of 13. Connie and her twin sister, Ponnie were inseparable all their life. The sisters were active in theatre when they were in high school and were even on the cover of a teen magazine in their late teen years. Even when Connie moved to Cabool the sisters stayed in constant contact and Ponnie became like a second mom to Connie’s girls.
Connie met her husband, Martin Mohler in May of 1973 when she was working at the Gilloz Theatre in Springfield. Not long after they met Connie quit her job at the Gilloz and started working at Steak-n-Shake. They were united in marriage on May 5, 1975 and to this union three daughters were born, Jennefier Lee and twin, Elizabeth Ann and Amanda Victoria. In 1983, Connie and Martin moved their family to Cabool where they lived until her passing.
Connie was a member of the Cabool Christian Church for many years. She loved the Lord and her family; she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She earned an associate’s of science degree from Drury University in 2002, but her heart was always with her family. Connie was so proud in 2003 when she became a grandmother for the first time. She would spend most of the next 12 years with her grandson, Matthew.
Connie and Matthew would spend many hours a day playing games, painting, drawing, cooking and sewing together. She would also read the bible and many books with him. Anyone who ever met Connie knew how proud she was of him and if you visited with her for very long she would tell you about the Lord and about the latest adventures she had with Matthew.
Connie lived a life centered on the Lord and her family. She also started a few years ago play secret Santa to people she cared about. She would embroider quilts and give them to people who had touched her in some way in her life. She was active in the church until March of 2015 when she fell ill and was no longer able to attend on a regular basis.
Connie was preceded in death by her daughter, Elizabeth Ann; brother, Terry Burough, Jr.; brother in law, Bill Anderson; step father, Terry Burough and grandparents, Bennie (Salty) and Mabel (Lakey) Bumgarner. She is survived by her husband, Martin of the home; daughter, Jennefier Richardson and grandson, Matthew of Cabool; daughter, Amanda Mohler of Springfield, MO; mother, Norma Burough of Springfield, MO; twin sister, Ponnie Anderson of Springfield, MO; sister, Teresa Adkins and husband, Bill of Springfield, MO; sister, Peggy Bhatnagar and niece, Amber of California; along with many more friends and family members.
