Funeral services for Lorin Leroy Vaughn, 79, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 23, 2017 at First Baptist Church, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Vaughn passed away at 7:45 p.m., Monday, December 18, 2017 at his home.
He was born July 5, 1938, at Morehouse, Missouri, to Lorin Vaughn, Sr. and Bertha May Harlan Vaughn. On March 5, 1960, he was married at Elizabeth, Pennsylvania, to Gloria Jean Lyons, who preceded him in death on May 24, 2000. Mr. Vaughn was a veteran, having served in the United States Army. He worked for twenty-seven years as a Probation and Parole Supervisor for the Missouri Department of Corrections. He served on the Citizens Advisory Board for Missouri Parole and Probation and enjoyed reading and woodworking. Mr. Vaughn was a member of First Baptist Church.
He is survived by two children, Michael Vaughn and wife, Lori, Springfield, Missouri and Melissa Lowe and husband, David, Willow Springs, Missouri; two grandchildren, Sophia and Natalie Vaughn; one brother, Larry Vaughn and wife, Judy, St. Genevieve, Missouri; one sister, Laquitta Herren, Venice, Florida; one sister-in-law, Carol Yecko, Finleyville, Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents and wife preceded him in death.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., Friday, at the Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to OMC Shaw Cancer Treatment Center and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. [robertsondrago.com]
