Services were held March 31, 1951 for Mrs. Annie Laurel Longacre, of Steele. Services were held at the First Baptist Church in Steele with Bro. W.H. Cook officiating.
Interment was at Mount Zion Cemetery with the German Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Longacre was born in Heloise, Tennessee, December 31, 1890 and died March 29, 1951 at the age of 60 years.
Survivors include three sons: Wilson of Pekin, Illinois; James and Ray serving in the U.S. Air Force; five daughters, Mrs. Mable Stanfield of Painton, Missouri; Mrs. Iris Stanfield of Detroit, Michigan; Mrs. Estell Payne of Steele Mrs. Nina Riddick of Steele; and Mrs. Dorothy Perry of Richmond, Kentucky. Also one brother, Clarence Barley of Steele; 14 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

James Hamilton Longacre was born at Braggadocio, Mo., Nov. 5, 1880. His father was Marion F. Longacre and his mother Mattie L. Michie Longacre.
He was married to Annie Barley July 4, 1908, of Arcolo, Miss. To this union were born 11 children, 3 of whom have preceded him in death, having died in infancy. The eight surviving are Mable, 22, Iris, 18, Wilson, 15, Estelle, 12, Ninna, 9, Dorothy, 7, James, 4, and Ray, 2. He is also survived by his devoted wife, his son-in-law, Jim Stanfield, two grandchildren, two brothers, Ernest, of Three Rivers, Mich., and Willard, of Pekin, Ill.
Mr. Longacre was fatally injured Monday afternoon, April 23, about 5 o'clock and passed away about two hours later at the Blytheville hospital. He attained the age of 53 years, 5 months and 18 days.
Our departed friend was a devoted husband and loving father. He was always thoughtful of friends and neighbors, a loyal supporter of every community enterprise, a defender of the poor and needy. He was a member of the I.O.O.F.--supporters of these principles.
He was a member of the Baptist church, having made a confession of faith in Christ many years ago.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Mt. Zion cemetery, conducted by Rev. A.B. Sadler, with arrangements in charge of the German Undertaking Co., and his brothers of the I.O.O.F. Lodge. Burial was made in the Mt. Zion cemetery.
