Thursday, May 13, 1943:
Francis Dean Strothers, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeff Strothers, died at Walls Hospital Tuesday morning, May 11, 1943. The three-months old baby had recently been dismissed from the hospital after a severe case of whooping cough, but suffered a relapse Tuesday and died at the hospital of pneumonia.
Funeral services were held at the German Funeral Home Chapel Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, with the Rev. J.W. Cunningham conducting the service, assisted by Rev. L.W. Stafford of Blytheville.
The Strothers have three other children, Mary Evelyn, Norma Jean and Jack. She is also survived by her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. D.M. Weaver.
Interment was made in Mount Zion Cemetery.
Pallbearers were friends of Mr. Strothers' in the Painter's Union, Local No. 12641. They were Carl Watts, Buster Wright, Bob Coleman and J.B. Wright, all of Blytheville.
Other members of the union and their wives of Blytheville who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. George Cummings, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas N. Jones, Jess R. Pruitt, J.W. Jones, Kyle P. Watts, Burley Freeman, and R.L. Freeman
