Wesley Wayne Radford 89 of Springfield passed away Saturday June 13, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Wayne was born on February 28, 1926 in Willow Springs, Mo. to Wesley Abner Radford and Dorothy "Johnson" Radford. Wayne was a graduate of Willow Springs high school and served in the US NAVY in WW II and KOREA. He was a graduate of MSU and received a Masters in Education from Drury College in Springfield. He had taught at Dry Creek, Marshfield and Niangua. He retired from Springfield Public Schools after 22 years. He was married to Ruth Maxine "Tyner" on July 14, 1946. He is a member of the Rogersville First Baptist Church, American Legion, Missouri Teachers Association and the Kiwanis of Downtown Springfield. Surviving is his brother Jack Radford of Springfield, grandson David Joseph Edwards of Springfield, son in law Bobby Joe Edwards of Springfield 3 nephews and a niece. Wayne was preceded in death by his 2 sons Wesley David Radford and Paul Marion Radford, his daughter Dr. Eloa Ann Edwards and a brother Wade Radford.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday June 18, 2015 at the Preston-Marsh Funeral Home Chapel Rogersville. Visitation will be from 10 A.M. till services time Thursday. Ruth Maxine Radford, 93, Springfield, passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2018 in Hermitage Nursing and Rehab, Hermitage.
She was born March 14, 1924 in Denoya, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late William Tyner and Ella Coontz.
Maxine was a LPN at Cox Medical Center in the cancer ward during the 60’s and 70’s. She was a member of First Baptist of Rogersville and enjoyed knitting, music and had a great love for dogs.
She is survived by a grandson, David J. Edwards and several nieces and nephews
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Dr. Eloa (Radford) Edwards; two sons, Wesley David Radford and Paul M. Radford; two brothers and a sister.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 26, 2018 at Willows Springs City Cemetery, Willow Springs under the care of J.D. Lee and Sons Funeral Home, Rogersville.
