Mrs. Lavada Ashcraft, 95, died Tuesday, February 7, 1989 at the Twin Rivers Regional Medical Center in Kennett, Mo.

Born April 7, 1893, at Casa, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wash Fitch.

At Casa, December 24, 1911 she was united in marriage to Lee Ashcraft, who preceded her in death January 21, 1976.

She was a mother and homemaker.

She leaves the following, four sons: T.E. Ashcraft, W.A. Ashcraft, and Don Ashcraft, all of Cooter, Mo., and Othlee Ashcraft of Canton, Texas; two daughters: Mrs. Gerthyl Mitchell of Cardwell, Mo., and Mrs. Irma Lee Hopgood of Kansas City, Mo., 15 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Rev. David Powell officiated at funeral services Thursday, February 9, 1989, at the John W. German Funeral Home in Steele, Mo.

Burial was at Mount Zion Cemetery in Steele with John W. German Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Ray Pugh, W.R. McClure, J.W. Neil, Herald Dennis, Don Tims, and Jerry McClure.

Funeral services for Lee Ashcraft were held Saturday, January 24, 1976 at 2:00 p.m., at the Holly Grove Baptist Church in Cooter with the Rev. Joe Smith officiating.
Born November 12, 1891, at Casa, Ark., he was the son of the late Joseph and Frances Robinson Ashcraft. Better known to most area residents as "Uncle Lee" Ashcraft, he died January 21, 1976, at Pemiscot County Medical Center in Hayti at the age of 84.
Ashcraft was employed by Holly Gin Company until his retirement. He was married to Vada Fitch at Casa, Ark., December 24, 1911, and they celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary last December.
He leaves his widow, Vada Ashcraft; four sons: T.E. Ashcraft, Othlee Ashcraft and Don Ashcraft, all of Cooter; and W.A. Ashcraft, Kansas City, Mo. two daughters: Mrs. Gerthyl Mitchell, Cardwell and Irma Lee Hopgood, Kansas City, five brothers: Luther Ashcraft, Adana, Ark., Lonnie, Robert and Herman Ashcraft, all of Morrilton, Ark., and Bill Ashcraft of Little Rock; five sisters: Ola Petty, Mattie Vint, Cassie Hendrix and Ruth Evans, all of Morrilton; and Rosie Hamilton, Perryville, Ark.; 19 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.
Interment was in Mount Zion Cemetery with the John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Bonnie Hale, Jerry McClure, Jake Sanford, John Nichols, Lloyd Booker, Herald Dennis, Lloyd Jernigan and Ray Pugh.
The Rev. Ollen West assisted.
