Helen Lafferty, 68, of Cooter, died Thursday, June 17, 2010, at the Pemiscot Memorial Health Systems in Hayti.
Born July 31, 1941 in Cooter, she is the daughter of the late Floyd Barger and Velma Clyde Bond Barger. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lewis (Butch) Lafferty.
She was a graduate of Cooter High School and she and her husband were the owners of a grocery store in Cooter.
Mrs. Lafferty leaves one daughter, Paula Powers and her husband David; One sister, Carolyn Clemmons; Three grandchildren: Morgan Barron and her husband Chad and Leah and Daniel Powers; Two great-grandchildren: Preston Powers and Dalton Barron; and Many other family members and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lafferty were held at 4 p.m., Saturday, June 19, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Steele with Bro. Jason Anderson officiating.
Burial was in the Mitchell Number Eight Cemetery in Cooter.

Lewis C. (Butch) Lafferty, 54, of Cooter, Mo. died Saturday, August 20, 1994 at Pemiscot Memorial Health Center in Hayti, Mo.
Born August 19, 1940 at Caruthersville, Mo., he was a son of Mrs. Florence Cobb and the late Joe Lafferty.
On July 18, 1959 at Braggadocio, Mo. Mr. Lafferty was united in marriage with Helen Barger.
He was owner and operator of a grocery store in Cooter.
Mr. Lafferty leaves his wife, Mrs. Helen Lafferty, of Cooter; One daughter, Mrs. Paula Powers, of Cooter; A granddaughter, Morgan Powers, of Cooter; His mother, Mrs. Florence Cobb, of Braggadocio; Two sisters: Norma Dudley of Braggadocio and Cathy Burke of Lexa, Ark.; and A brother, Billy Joe Lafferty, of Cooter.
Funeral services for Mr. Lafferty were held Tuesday, August 23, 1994, at the John W. German Funeral Home Chapel in Steele, Mo. with Rev. Tim Abanathy officiating.
Burial was at the Mitchell Number Eight Cemetery near Cooter with John W. German Funeral Home of Steele in charge.
