Robert Bruce Bise was born July 24, 1937 to the late Orville Henry and Gussie Myrtle (Atwell) Bise in Mexico, Missouri where he grew up and attended school. He later went on to college and earned his Associate’s Degree in Psychology and his Bachelor of Science Degree in Theology. Robert served his country in the United States Air Force for fifteen years and the Marine Corp for two years, participating in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. After serving in the military, Robert spent the majority of his working years as an insurance salesman and later operating Preferred Risk Insurance Agency. On August 18, 1976, Robert was united in marriage to Patricia Diane McCord in Florence, Arizona. They shared over 27 years of marriage together. From 1985 to 1996, Robert and Patricia served as foster parents and touched the lives of over 300 children. Robert was a member of the Grace Covenant Christian Center in Waynesville and was also a life member of Disabled American Veterans Chapter 49. Robert is survived by his wife, Patricia of the home; his children: Bruce Eldon Bise of Allen, TX; Melinda “Linda” Bise of Plano, TX; Melissa “Lisa” Townsley of the state of TX; Merlin Bise, of Allen, TX; Robert Scott Bise
of Laquey, MO; Daphanie McCrudden of Falcon, MO; Pamela Bise of Laquey, MO; one foster daughter: Tammy Kelly; 3 sisters: Anna Cowels of Phoenix, AZ, Wanda Kinnon of Mexico, MO and Judy Tindell of Prescott, AZ; 11 grandchildren; several nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: Orville Henry and Gussie Myrtle Bise; an infant brother, Eugene Bise; two sisters: Opal Bise and Vivian Bise; and one brother: Orville Bise, Jr. A graveside service was held at 3:30 PM Friday, October 31, 2003 at the Log Church Memorial Gardens Cemetery of Purdy, MO with Rev. Mark Moller officiating. Guitarist David McCord accompanied Melody Allred, Sharon Reid and Susan Moller as they sang “The Old Rugged Cross”, “What A Day That Will Be” and “The First Look”. Military honors were provided by the United States Marine Corp and the American Legion Post 91 of Monett, MO. Services were under the direction of Waynesville Memorial Chapel.
