Dennis Rickey Newman, 60, of Oak Grove, passed away Wednesday, January 5, 2011, in Houston, Texas. He was born in Cassville, September 18, 1950, the son of Rayburn “Buckles” and Opal (Terry) Newman on June 27, 1970, he was united in marriage to Debby Saunders, who survives. Additional survivors include a son, Jeremy Newman, of Campbellsburg, KY; a daughter, Kimberly Newman and her husband, David Hilliard, of Independence, KY; his mother, Opal Newman, of Kansas City; a brother, Randy Newman and his wife, Nina, of Mack’s Creek; and a sister, Cathy Robbins and her husband, Bernard, of Oak Grove. He was preceded in death by his father at a young age, Rickey and his family left Barry County and moved to Kansas City to make their home. He continued his education in Kansas City at Southeast High School. He was an over the road truck driver for Anderson Trucking Service out of St. Cloud, Minn. Funeral services were held Tuesday in Fohn Funeral Home, Cassville. Rev. Mark Miller conducted the services. Burial was at Log Church Cemetery, Butterfield.
