Richard Gale Watson, son of the late Martin and Thedis Huckaby, and Thomas Otis Watson. He was born Sept. 1, 1947, in Pine Bluff, Ark., and died Sept. 12, 2018, in West Plains, at the age of 71 years.
He was a veteran who proudly served in the United States Army achieving the rank of Sargent while serving in Vietnam.
He was united in marriage Sept. 12, 1986, in West Plains to Judy Hutsell.
He enjoyed working with his children as an accomplished master electrician for 40 years. After retiring he spent many happy years giving advice at Skillets.
He is survived by his wife Judy Watson of the family home: seven children, Kelly Watson and wife, Michelle, Casey Watson, Kris Watson and wife, Jaysa, Kayla Cobb and husband, Aaron, Lesia Mayfield and husband, Roger, Teresa Gaston, Doug and wife Carla; 21 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother Gerald Holland and wife, Linda; and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Thomas Gary Watson, and one granddaughter Natalie Morgan.
A memorial service for Richard Watson will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 21, 2018, at Calvary General Baptist Church, with Reverend Billy Bales officiating. [westplainsdailyquill.net}
