SELIGMAN, Mo. — Cody W. Deans, age 25, of Seligman, Missouri, passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016, at the University Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. Cody, son of Sid Deans and Sherri (Gautney) Roy was born on September 20, 1990, in Rogers, Arkansas. He graduated high school in 2009 from Agape High School in Stockton. Cody loved fishing, camping, golfing, bowling, shooting pool, and tinkering—making things from anything he could get his hands on. He also enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time with family and friends.
Survivors include his father Sid Deans and his wife Krista, of Rogers, Arkansas; his mother, Sherri Roy and her husband Douglas, of Stockton; one sister, Sumer Roy, of Stockton; four step-sisters, Jayden Roy and Alexis Roy both of Stockton, Vanessa Van Riper and her husband Timothy, of West Fork, Arkansas, and Melanie Chandler of Fayetteville, Arkansas; paternal grandparents, John and Donna Deans of Seligman; maternal grandparents, Darrell Gautney and his wife Ilene of Seligman, and Vicki Cordova of Oskaloosa, Iowa; paternal great-grandfather, Bob Thompson and his wife Olieva of Jenkins; paternal stepgreat-grandmother, Mary Slagle of Springdale, Arkansas; maternal great-grandparents, Doris Gautney of Cassville, and Charles Quick, of Oskaloosa, Iowa; one nephew, Jayce Naylor; one step-niece, Emma Van Riper; numerous aunt and uncles; several cousins; and a host of friends.
Memorial contributions may be made to Epilepsy Foundation and entrusted to the White Funeral Home and Crematory, P.O. Box 890, Cassville, Mo. 65625.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2016, at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Washburn, in Washburn, with Pastor Glen Erwin and Pastor Frank Burton officiating; burial to follow at the Seligman City Cemetery in Seligman. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 9th from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the White Funeral Home and Crematory in Cassville. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the White Funeral Home and Crematory, Cassville, Missouri.
