Rev. Leslie Means served in the armed forces during WW2, stationed in France and Germany. When he returned home, he traveled the country, perfecting his skill in restaurant cooking. He married twice. His first wife's name was "Dottie." They divorced soon after. He met and married his second wife, Pauline Beatrice Bordinaro, in California, where he ran a restaurant in the Bay Area. They had a only son named Ronald Paul Means. They moved to Garberville, CA, and opened, operated, and owned "Les' Cafe." After selling the business, they moved back to his family farm. There they had another child, his only daughter, Dinah Leah Means. Leslie was called to the ministry with the Free Will Baptist and served in the Arroll Free Will Baptist Church, Clear Springs Free Will Baptist Church, and Faith & Hope Free Will Baptist Church. While keeping up a 240-acre farm with milk and beef cattle, raising hay and alfalfa, he also served as county schools dietary supervisor. He died of lung cancer in 1971.
