Hubert Lloyd Taff, 76 of Cabool, Missouri, son of the late Otto Marion and Lena (Elliott) Taff, was born March 12, 1941 in Cabool, Missouri and departed this life September 22, 2017, at Cox South Medical Center in Springfield, Missouri.
He attended school through the eighth grade at Oak Grove School, and then attended Cabool High School, graduating in 1959.
Lloyd married his high school sweetheart, June D. Knight on August 26, 1960. He cherished her most of all, having been married to her for fifty-seven years. They were blessed with two children, daughter, Sherri and son, Jay. They also helped raise two foster children, Sherryl White and Tony Bliss.
Lloyd spent many years working with DFA, doing some construction work and farming (both dairy and beef), finally retiring from DFA. He also started restoring 1954-56 Ford cars which became a source of enjoyment for both him and June. They were able to travel to several car shows and club meetings over the years, including in Australia and met a lot of wonderful people, many of whom became very good friends.
He enjoyed time with his family, including his brother, sisters and their families. He spent many hours outdoors playing with grandchildren, teaching them to drive on a 3-wheeler, car, truck or tractor. He was always surprising his grandchildren with his quick and witty comments in their conversations at the family dinner table. In recent years, he enjoyed watching his two great-grandsons grow and play. Lloyd always had a special place in his heart for little ones.
He was baptized and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was a long-time member of Cabool Christian Church and his faith was very important.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Lena Taff; sister, Edna Lee; brothers-in-law, Leland Holmes, Paul Knight and Joe Knight and father and mother-in-law Willard and Gladys Knight. He is survived by his wife, June; his daughter, Sherri and husband, Tim Bay; son, Jay Taff and wife, Trish; grandchildren, Tymon Bay and wife, Kimberly, Melanie and husband, Sean Munton, Shelby and husband, Aaron Tillery, Taylor Bay and Colton Taff; great-grandsons, Oliver Bay and Peter Bay; brother, Larry Taff and wife, Becky; sister, Linda and husband, Darrell Vandivort; sister-in-law, Vivian and husband, Tom Alsup; along with many nieces, nephews and a host of wonderful friends and neighbors. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends. [egcfuneralhome.com]
