Juie Ruth Rogers, 87, formerly of Village 76, died at 6:14 this morning (Tuesday) November 8, 1988 at Twin Pines Adult Care Center, Kirksville, where she had been a resident since 1987.
Born February 25, 1901 in Hancock Co.,, IL, she was the daughter of Mortimore and Mary Susan Wilson Featheringill. On December 11, 1918 in Kirksville, she was married to Earl K. Rogers who preceded her in death on August 15, 1947. Also preceding her in death were one daughter, Berniece Pallardy in 1979; two sisters and six brothers.
Surviving are five daughters, Mildred Nelson of Biggsville, Illinois; Irene Mitchell of La Plata, Reva Selby of Kirksville; Mrs. Stan (Earlene) Taylor of Lake Ozark and Mrs. Ray (Karen) Anna of Hemet, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; two nieces and four nephews.
At the age of six, Mrs. Rogers moved with her family to the Gibbs community. She received her education in the Gibbs schools. From 1939 to 1952, she operated the telephone office in Gibbs. Later she moved to St. Louis where she resided until 1980 when she moved to Village 76 in Kirksville.
Mrs. Rogers was a member of the Gibbs Christian Church.
Funeral services will be held at two o'clock Thursday afternoon, November 10, 1988 in Hudson-Rimer Park View Funeral Chapel, Kirksville. The Rev. Beryl Cragg of Kahoka will conduct the services. Burial will be in the Gibbs Union Cemetery.
Bearers will be her grandsons.
