Departed this life September 10th at the residence of her son-in-law Barker Peirce [sic], in Wilson township. Mother Eliza Ross, aged 63 years, After a painful illness of several weeks.
In the beginning of her sickness Mother Ross said she could not get well and made all her requests and final preparations for death, in a manner mos[t] touching to behold. And she bourn her suffering with great fortitude retaining consciousness nearly to the last. Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. Mr. Clark of Brashear, on the 11th at one o'clock and her body was then born by tender hands to its final resting place at which is known as the Union cemetery. A large circle of neighbors and friends stood by the relatives of the departed in death's trying hour. Let them be assured that their kindness will never be forgotten.
