The baby boy of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Spencer of Gibbs died, Thursday morning. The little one was born Monday. There will be short services at the house, probably Saturday, as they are waiting until Rev. and Mrs. L.D. Neher of Audrain, Mo. parents of Mrs. Spencer can come.

Marguerite Spencer Is Dead
Little Marguerite Spencer, five year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Spencer of Gibbs, died in a hospital in Kirksville Wednesday afternoon following an illness of three weeks caused by swallowing a piece of tin about the size of a nickel.
It will be remembred [sic] she swallowed the tin while playing with it, using it for a whistle.
An operation was attempted a few days after the tin lodged but was not successful, and Sunday another operation resulting in removing it. The little girl rallied at first, then grew worse until the end.
No arrangements have been made for the funeral. The bereaved parents have the deep sympathy of the entire community.

Little Margurite Nell Spencer died at the A.S.O. Hospital in Kirksville Aug. 13, 1919. Age 5 years 5 months and 12 days. She was the youngest daughter of Ernest and Ella Spencer of Gibbs, Mo.
Though little Marguerite was young in years she had as many friends and admirers as tho she had been of mature age. Her parents being in public life brought her in contact with the public, and because to know her was to love her. she was admired by everyone. Her most wonderful characteristics, were her cheerfulness, kindness and affectionate disposition.
She was a regular attendant at Sunday School at the Christian Church at Gibbs and the entire Sunday School and especially her own class are deeply grieved because of her death.
Little Margurite leaves her father and mother a little sister, Margaretta, grandfather and a grandmother and many relatives and a multitude of friends who will always remember her as one of the sweetest little girls of their acquaintance.
