Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the German Funeral Home Chapel in Steele for William L. Morris, 85, who died May 14, 1966 at the Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital in Hayti.
The Rev. Bishop Parker and Rev. Alonzo Barrow officiated.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Sarah Morris of Steele; two daughters, Mrs. Earl Mosley of Steele and Mrs. Earl Parham of Piggott, Ark.; a daughter-in-law, Laverne Morris, of Cooter; two brothers, Jim Morris of Jackson, Tenn.; and Luther Morris of Jack's Creek, Tenn.; also nine grandchildren; and three sisters, Rosa Alred of Memphis; Clementine Richardson of McKenzie, Tenn.; and Dora Richardson of Jack's Creek.
Burial was at Number 8 Cemetery with the German Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Ethel Mae Morris died at Pemiscot County Memorial Hospital in Hayti January 16, 1962. She had lived in this community for forty-one years.
The daughter of Luther and Martha Hamlett Reid, Mrs. Morris was born in Henderson County, Tenn. on April 15, 1884.
Services will be at the First Baptist Church in Steele today (Friday) at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Alonzo Barrow and Bro. Bishop Parker of Marked Tree, Ark. officiating.
Burial will be at No. 8 Cemetery with German Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Grandsons will be the pallbearers.
Mrs. Morris leaves her husband, W.L. Morris of 418 Liberty Street; two daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Parham of Piggott, Ark.; and Mrs. Irene Mosley of Braggadocio; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Laverne Morris of Cooter; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, James Reid of Nashville and M.E. Reid of Tigert, Tenn.; four sisters, Mrs. Nora Beaver of Friendship, Tenn.; Mrs. Josephine Harbor, St. Louis; Mrs. Emma Mattox of Louisville, Ky.; and Mrs. Ruth Howell, Memphis.
